I remember being a student a few years ago and really wanting a product EXACTLY like this.

I did a degree in bio science, and with the amount of journals and papers I had to print off, read, highlight, annotate, and carry around with me, only for it all to go in the bin once I was done; it would have been so much easier on the kindle scribe. Easier on my back and my eyes for sure.

The only thing they had at the time was the ReMarkable 1 which had just come out, and it was so expensive, and you had to subscribe.
The Scribe is cheaper than the ReMarkable, and if I was still studying I'd definitely get one. With the amount of money I spent on printing in the library, a printer for my room, ink and paper, it would likely have been worth the updront cost by the end of my 4 year degree, and then an extra 1-2 years had I done a masters.

I used to read on my phone/laptop all the time, but I got a kindle paperwhite a few years ago and it makes a massive difference. My eyes dont fo blurry after reading anymore 😊

Started watching you in 2007. I love that you are still at it Jon. Thank you for inspiring me in this way.

Your Kindle Scribe review stands out in a sea of disses. You've, instead, focused on the positives of using this device. I am a researcher and writer with a thousandish books in my Kindle library. The one feature of the Kindle device, unlike all of the kindle apps, most useful for me, is being able to search the content of the entire library.

Being a syntopic reader and researcher, I can quickly scan for topics across the library and get different, but related, explanations for the topic at hand so I can write from a wider and knowledgeable perspective. I can make highlights and have them sync with Readwise and into Obsidian in nearly real time and continue on my merry writing way with no delay; writing mojo not distracted.

However, the Kindle Paperwhite isn't quite big enough to use a research tool when I'm working at my large desktop environment; it's too small but still useful while reading in bed or an airplane seat.

Today, you're review tipped the scale on purchasing a Kindle Scribe. Thank you for this wonderful review. Cheers!

The kindle created such a warm spot in my heart. My youngest sister used to come to me and say “Mikey, I’m bored.” She was about 8 years old at the time, so i brought her a kindle. She wouldn’t stop reading 📖! I was so happy I introduced the kindle to her. She loved all of the Agatha Christie mysteries. 😊

Aside of general case of books reading on a bigger screen, would love to use it as a daily notes/journaling device as I prefer to do that in the evening out of big bright screens. Also, it's seems to be good to make notes for a books I am reading, like annotating PDFs is a killer feature, as they could be exported later into my personal books database or as a baseline for a goodreads review.

I would use it constantly as a teacher - I love to have articles and references right there in front of me as I make notes!

I look forward to getting a kindle to use as a teacher with my lesson plans. And now with the ability to send documents directly from MS Word, it will make it a lot easier to use. So, I write up my lesson plan in Word, then send it to the scribe to be able to refer to it while giving class. Rather than printing it out, I can keep it. Now, I do this now with my Likebook P10, but it is not very easy to use and it is slow. I also plan to use it for studying education related textbooks on it. I don't have one as of yet because they are not available here in Mexico. I hope they become available by this next Prime Days sale.

I would use the kindle scribe to read Ryan Holiday’s Stoic series of books. I have the 7th generation paper white and find myself using my sticky notes app on my iPhone for detailed thoughts/notes. This would be my dream device! I read hundreds of books a year and think this is a fantastic idea for folks reading self help or philosophy book to streamline the notes process on 1 device! 1:13

OneNote? If they make this work with a nearly fully functional version of Microsoft OneNote, it’ll become a great productivity device and I’ll buy it. Thanks for the video!

I would use this for school. I'm about to get a BA and start teaching English. I've got a master's degree next to tackle

I love my kindle but I'm not sure I'd want to write what I feel on the Scribe with Amazon looking over my shoulder at everything I write.

Wrong price point though ..$400 plus for another tablet type experience that’s easier on the eyes but not on the wallet.

It's a must-have for students.

The only complain is its slower speed in this price segment!
