Ladies and gentlemen, today I'm super excited about this video! Let me know after it's over if you love that GM rid their Z06 of this.

Great!!! Thumbs Up Button was smashed to the floor.
Wish some manufacturers would eliminate the engine shutoff device or let you permanently delete it’s function upon stopping at a light or when in traffic. My BMW 328 has it. I hate every time you start the car you need to hit the control ring to disable that function.

FYI, I finally got an allocation for a 2022 C8 and placed an order on 11/8/2021. Ordered a 2LT, Z51, Red Mist Convertible with Jet Black Napa Leather Interior, Front Lift, Mag Ride, Battery Protection, Floor and Cargo Liner Protection, Splash Guards and Tow Hook (hopefully never to be needed). Now the waiting begins.
Was in Aruba on Tuesday and unfortunately found I couldn’t make a wire transfer to get in on the Coccia ZO6 opportunity to get on their list.
Love your channel and I hope you get the C8 issues resolved. Years ago a friend of mine had a Mallet Prepared C5 that suffered $18, 000 worth of undercarriage damaged when he went off roading. He then sold the car and got a 2009 ZR1. He now added a 2020 all black inside and out C8 and says he is first in line at a small Central PA dealership for a ZO6.
AND Brink, he’s not afraid to drive them in all types of Pennsylvania weather. I guess I have a “Garage Queen”: 2009 C8 Red Crystal Tintcoat Z51 Coupe that just turned over 7, 000 miles. I plan on keeping the car when I get the C8. I have unfortunately Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer, been on chemo for over 2 1/2 years and hopefully get to enjoy the C8.

I had seen those videos and like you was thrilled to hear, especially since I will track the Z06. The other thing I found exciting was in Austin's interview with Tadge, when he said that the Z06 w/ the ZO7 option, “Will hang with the C7 ZR1 for quickest lap of a session, but if you look at the average lap over a full tank of fuel, the C8 Z06 will be quicker.” He went on to say that the difference in Z06 lap times over a session is zero, even negative. Sometimes the fastest lap of the day was the last lap.

Speed Phenom is a great channel! Austin drives the wheels off of His cars! His interview with the GM engineer was great! I think that it surprised the Engineer a little.

That kid Austin is pretty sharp and a pretty good driver. I’m sure GM did not want to take any chances with this new DOHC/Flat plane crank engine, and the new trans..This is great news.

I'm soooo glad my C6Z doesn't have that. I've driven it all over this year and so far I'm averaging 24.5 mpg. Not at all bad for a 427. Perfectly acceptable. This includes getting stuck in huge traffic jams as well as high speed highway cruising and just puttering around town. And no cylinder deactivation necessary.

Great news Mike! I know I didn't buy my C7 to be a "4" cylinder. I keep mine in Sport mode and I enjoy the heck out of it. BTW, impressive gas mileage for a car of this caliber. C8 owners are going to love this delete.

You can tell Austin and Eddie are true performance car fans.

@Brink of Speed remember the LT6 doesn't share the same architecture with the other LT or LS V8s. The cylinder deactivation on the LT/LS was mechanically done at the lifters in the block near the single cam. The LT6 has four cams so it would add lots of complexity to the valve train of a high revving engine.

Cylinder deactivation was always a joke. Glad to see it gone.

The LT6 also gets 20 minute break in at the factory! Chevy is doing an amazing job on this super car.

Oh, wow that is big and I recall listening to that interview first hand and didn't realize why that would even be a case on these C8's or any after so going forward even now.

I wish they did that for the 2022 C8 stingray.

3:55 not exactly ready to go on track from show room floor. Still has a break in period.... unless the travel distance to the track is attained during trip to the track. 😁

The right stuff. Ask yourself does the C8R have cylinder deactivation? No, and neither should The C8 ZO6 with it"s Race Engine. Wow Good news Great Video Mike

Cylinder deactivation has always been a curse to GM going all the way back to the 80's with the V8-6-4, time to give it up GM!

I ordered a C8 Z06 Z07. The thing I hate the most so far is the gas refill is on the drivers side. I like gas refill to be on passenger side. I know it's small, but still.
It's funny because my CTS-V has cylinder deactivation but I have never seen it happen. Maybe I thought it had the mode but it doesn't...

I think the technology behind the cylinder deactivation is actually pretty cool. It obviously detracts from the sportiness of the car but it is cool how they engineered it.

That being said it has no business whatsoever being on the Z06. I doubt you could even do it with the FPC engine anyway.
