Fried Squash & Onions with Spiced Fresh Salmon

Salmon Steaks (Glazed)
SALMON STEAK
3 TBSP. OLIVE OIL
3 TBSP. SALTED BUTTER
1/4 CUP GOLDEN EAGLE TABLE SYRUP OR CORN SYRUP
2 TSP. WEBER SMOKY BARBEQUE SEASONING
Rinse and pat salmon steaks dry. (cut if required into 2” wide pieces. Preheat skillet on medium high. Add olive oil, and salmon steaks-cook on high for 2 minutes to sear, cover, turn heat to low and simmer 8 minutes with lid on. Take off lid flip, add butter and cook 2 minutes. Combine syrup & BBQ seasoning. Glaze salmon and cook until glaze thickens. Be careful-do not burn glaze. Take off heat and serve.
Salmon Steaks w/red chili sauce
ASIAN SWEET CHILI SAUCE
Make salmon as above accept use sweet chili sauce instead of the above glaze. This is now my favorite way to eat Salmon! Make it in the Air Fryer putting chili sauce on salmon at half cooking time. Use Air-Fryer Fish setting.

I learned a tip on cooking salmon. Make a foil pack and add seasoning and butter or olive oil but a little bit if using oil n not butter) but fold the foil pk around fish n cook up to 8-10 mins and it will cook all the way through perfectly or without foil pack u can look at the sides n it will change colors to pink to white. Its done! That way u don't have to break into the beautiful piece of salmon filets. I 💙 some Cajun salmon foil packs. So yummy 😋! I use just regular Cajun from the dollar general store and its not hott or spicy. But I use lemon juice, Cajun seasoning, lemon 🍋 pepper &, salt! I add some butter 🧈 to the top and a fresh lemon slice on top. Wrap up foil packs of salmon and they go on the grill for about 10-12 minutes. We eat bigger pieces and it's even better the next day warmed up! Enjoy with a bake potato and side salad 🥗!

Hey Tammy! Since spring is coming up that means that a lot of showers will be happening for weddings, baby showers, etc. This also means in the south, it’s time for formal southern teas to honor the people who are making big transitions in their lives! Since moving up north, I’ve noticed people don’t honor others with teas like we do down south. Since realizing this, I’ve honored a few of my friends with a real southern style tea and they are so impressed with the simple elegance one has to offer. They are also impressed with the southern classic tea cakes and the spiced hot tea that is also served. I was wondering, since spring was coming up and you have many viewers who aren’t from the south and may not be familiar with a southern style tea and the tea cakes/hot spiced tea that is normally served if you could do an episode on what a southern style tea is? I think that would be something really uniquely southern to share with others who haven’t been raised in the south. Love love your videos and I watch them everyday and your hair and make up always look so great! :) Carla

Making squash casserole tonight and found this video. Something to try later. I was watching Mysteries at the Museum on the Travel Channel and they highlighted Lulu Hurst from Collard Valley, Ga back in the late 1800s. Have you heard of her? The legend says she acquired super powers from a thunderstorm when she was a teen. She started to perform feats of strength by lifting people to make a living and continued the show for years. Late in her life she wrote in her autobiography her power was based on using leverage and not strength bestowed on her from a thunderstorm. It was a good story and people didn't care back then because they enjoyed her shows. I thought I'd share this since I remember you said you were from Collard Valley.

I love fried red tomatoes as much as the fried green tomatoes.
I sprinkle the greem tomatoes slices with a little sugar. It makes a difference. Then salt, pepper and coat them.
Fried red and green tomatoes on a BLT would be so good. ❤

Have you tried Salmon En Papillote?
On a square of parchment paper, I put down some sliced zuchinni, squash, onion and mushrooms. I season them. Then I lay a 4 oz. salmon fillet over them. Salt, pepper and a squirt of fresh orange juice and lemon juice. Then I put a thin slice of orange and lemon on top.
Wrap it up and cook in oven on 350° for 10-15 minutes, depending on how thick the salmon is.
It's great making individual packets. That way, people can customize it according to taste, diet and/or allergies.
Have it with a side of steamed spinach with garlic and fresh squeezed orange juice or lemon/butter asparagus, baked sweet potato and either yellow, white or brown rice. Or a confetti couscous.

I know it tastes gross, BUT the salmon skin is supposed to be even way more nutritious than the salmon itself, and help ward off disease.

I was just wondering why you don't pull your air fryer out from the wall when you use it. I have to pull mine out per instructions to make sure it has a lot of
ventilation.
