Luke, pothos love to climb upwards and can get huge if they are able to! Maybe you could have some sort of attachment to the tank for them to climb on. A climbing pothos with that fantastic window light they already have could make for really healthy large pothos! Good luck and the new setup looks fantastic!

Also, you should make this one a nicely "aquascaped" display tank since it's in your living space. It looks good already with the Pothos and sand and I know fancies get stuck or hurt easy but maybe some safe decor or plants would work. Maybe live Java Fern and Anubias attached glued to rocks, they have tough leaves and are harder for fish to consume, quite hardy too.

You've got me wanting to own goldfish again. I haven't had any since I was younger, I miss them so much. At least now I have proper knowledge of their care for when I eventually get them :)

love those vibes and I think you could add some peace lily to give it some layer it also help absorb the pollution and some chemical in the house. I had one in my fish tank too❤

FACT: even if you get your pothos to absorb most of the nitrates that a cycled goldfish aquarium creates, you will STILL need to do water changes. Why? Because goldfish, like all vertebrates, need minerals. The minerals in water depletes over time as goldfish use it up.

So yes, even a heavily-planted, low maintenance tank needs water changes (or at least water top-offs and/or mineral additives) to keep your fish healthy

Having the plants clean the water like that is genius!

Looking good, I love the look of how pothos grows in an aquarium, got some myself, grew it from clippings of a potted one.

Can someone explain why the plants growing will decrease the amount of water changes needed? Is that because the plant roots absorb ammonia in the water?

Hi! I had a quick question. We live in a temperate climate, and have been successfully keeping some shubunkins and sarasa comets outside, and I was wondering, Do you have any outdoor narrow bodied goldfish like wakins?
