How well do they stand up to comets and common goldfish?

I wanted some nice foreground plant. Bought staurogyne repens. This baby plants is hard enough to separate and plant as it is. Made a mess spent hours. Then what. These plants got uprooted and I had to replant at least twice a day. I tried to even tie it with plant weight, and they still got dug up, and gold fishes are the leaves bare. I gave up, I surrender.

The bigger your goldfish get, the more likely they are to destroy your elodea, from my experience.

go out to your local lake to get plants. 9 times out of 10 they grow better than what they sell in the store and my gold fish leavs most plants alone except green hair algie and they like java moss a little bit.

Gold fishes torn my moss balls apart …. Only managed to save two, what I bought for fishes to hide now a safe house, ish for the remaining moss balls

I have to disagree with the list of plant's you say goldfish won't eat
I have 9 goldfish in a 110 gal stock tank & have tried java ferns &
anacharis, & java moss they have eaten every 1 of them & that's
with feeding them 2 times a day so they will eat your plant's.
