QOTW: I’ve used all three methods you listed at different times and it all depends on mood, interest, end goal, etc. For instance, if I want to perform the part, I use pads (and I need to go back and learn how to do “keyboard drumming”). If I have an original pattern and I want it locked to a grid, it’s “written”. But sometimes I like to be surprised by “generative results” or I can be content with a good preset pattern.

I use my tr8-s as a midi controller to draw all my drum patterns on ableton.

I usually prefer playing beats on either pads or sometimes keys.. not exclusively.. sometimes I don't mind using loops, but playing it in seems to work the best/quickest for me..

Like most of the times you have to fill in an invoice informations box to get the Hainbach freebie plugin - although it's free. So it's mainly an Email, adress and name grab operation by the company.

We picked up Rhythm Box recently - Definitely using Logic's Session Players (Drummer) a lot for simple patterns and fills - right now I'm trying to start many new songs, so there is a "plug and play" quality you get out of starting songs that way. We like how you can immediately convert Session patterns to MIDI - kind of want to keep things on grid while building until we mess it up. - C_Quin

Hi Sanjay, you were saying Heritage was the first but Audient released already a few years ago audio interface with preamp from their console. So I would say Audient was years before Heritage Audio in that approach.

Brother, windows laptops are now coming with snapdragon elite X arm chips and in future windows arm laptops may increase. So for pro work like music production we need windows Arm versions of DAW s for transition of tech.
Hope daw companies work on it.

Reason Studios has many ways to generate rythems however I tend to just draw or copy paste and or loop sections and pitch shift midi or audio into a rythem for melody or drums.

Hey Sanjay... What would you suggest to a drummer who wants to start recording drums but on a budget? Do I go for a 4 channel interface or a cheap 8 channel one? Do I go condenser mics? Or go for dynamic so I can use Line level inputs without caring for preamps? Will it affect the recording in a negative way?

(I was looking at the Minifuse 4 and getting 2 pencil condensers for overheads and 2 sm57s for kick and snare... Is that a good idea?)
