00:00 Main ramen types

00:45 Tonkotsu Ramen, Ippudo
Tonkotsu ramen is pork-based ramen. Tonkotsu is the champion of all ramen types.

04:48 Kotteri, Tenkaippin
Tankaippin (天下一品) is a ramen chain from Kyoto. It is famous for Kotteri ramen. Kotteri means rich and heavy. It has 218 restaurants in Japan alone.

07:35 Miso Ramen, Misokuma
Miso ramen is from Hokkaido, Sapporo. I enjoyed it with butter and sweet corn in this video. Misokuma (みそ熊) is available in 19 locations throughout Japan.

11:13 Tokyo Ramen Street

12:02 Shoyu Ramen, Soranoiro
Shoyu means soy sauce. Shoyu Ramen is known as the oldest ramen. Shoyu broth is light compared to Tonkotsu and Miso Ramen. I visited Soranoiro Nippon (そらのいろ NIPPON). The restaurant offers vegan and gluten-free options as well.

14:43 Shio Ramen, Hirugao
Shio means salt. Shio Ramen is made with clear chicken broth. I visited Hirugao (ひるがお) on Tokyo Ramen Street. Some seafood toppings are well suited for clear Shio broth. Shio ramen is the lightest broth among all types. Therefore, it's popular with people who avoid heavy food.

I just stumbled across your channel, and I enjoyed learning about the different types of ramen. Pickled mustard greens makes a lot of sense to me. Mustard greens is the English name of a leafy vegetable similar to kale. In the southern region of the United States, many people may use mustard greens as a substitute for a very popular side dish called collard greens, made from a different vegetable in the same plant family. I'm sure the Americans understood the translation. Thank you!

I just stumbled over your channel. That was a nice video. I will be in Japan in June. Best choice in case of weather I think. 🤣
I would love if you could show more of the great places where tourists barely go. I’m sure there are lots of options in less touristy places.
Thank you for this video! 😊
