Thanks for sharing! This video is the only one which has an uncut sequence of pairing and is valuable. I have a Galaxy S7 and spent nearly 2 hours trying to pair the phone to the RC and the RC to the Mavic Air... also went through 1 whole battery in the process and drained my phone battery. PITA until I found your video. I was able to pair the RC to the drone, then began calibration, which was successful, then had to update the drone firmware and wouldn't you know it, the 2nd battery was below 50% so I couldn't finish it to take the drone off the ground... It ruined my excitement to get it today. Thanks DJI for not even having a simply version of pairing... UNCUT. Thanks again "Phones and Drones" for this video. I hope it helps others. I'll be sharing on forums as needed in the future.

when un r recording how to, make sure everything is visible on camera!! which cable did u put in the controller for instance and stuff like that.

You also powered it on with the gimble guard on. NOT recommended if you don't want burnt out gimble motors

Dude one simple and most important rule. Never switch the drone on first before the controller and never switch off the controller before the drone

problem is :: you had disconnected the RC and the DRONE wire, so somehow it connected via WIFI even thos connect thru wire was selected. QUESTION IS : can the DRONE be connected to RC AND RC connected to the PHONE at the same time ? ive read where you can only connect thru one PORT at a time on the RC, yet without the PHONE connected to RC there is no APP control of RC / DRONE

cheers worked for me, I was using the ipad but the wireless was shocking, just tested the mavic air on my desk for my friends house two doors down lol, having remote connected to fly is awesome, so always connect using wired to remote never wireless :)

The USB C cable you are using is to connect your Mavic Air to your computer.
You can do this when you want to download your videos from the drone internal memory onto your computer.
So you should not plug it into the Remote Controller !!! I don't suppose it will do any harm - but it won't do any good either.
The instructions you were (mis)reading on the leaflet were asking you to plug another (smaller) usb cable between the Remote Controller and the mobile phone (or tablet).
You have 2 of these smaller cables supplied by DJI in your drone kit: one is for iOS and another for Android based phones/tablets.
You mount your phone onto the RC and then you plug the small cable from the left side of the RC to your phone.
My DJI GO 4 software detects the RC and the drone with no issues within a minute.

I turn on my drone and the props turn ; gimbal moves i am supposed to hear the fan inside spin up and i should hear the sound alarm and i should see the red light flash... BUT i dont.
After the Props, Gimbal movement, i get a yellow light, it stays on constant yellow.


What can i do here, please


I have not looked around and have just left my drone in the bag for 6 months.

Good video but should have removed Gimbal Clamp before starting! Done this a few times myself - don't think it does the camera any good!
