Yamaha T7 Suspension Upgrade Episode 5: Fork Wrap-Up

I go over some of the internal changes in the forks. Unfortunately, I had more video camera issues again so some of the footage was lost.

I went over the oil lock/hydro lock system. Explained the changes to the spring perches and shimmed the lugs and fork tubes. Forks were assembled and installed. The fork guard mounting brackets had to be trimmed to clear the forks at full compression.

1 step closer!!!! But holy crap you have done a ton of machining for this swap. I really hope that (for your sake) the next episode is 30 seconds of you saying how easy it was to install the rear shock, and everything went smoothly, followed by ten minutes of riding footage. Either way, can't wait to see this thing BRAAAAP

That wear is lack of servicing oil and replacing bushings The fork tubes flex on back and forth up to 3inch on a mx bike from fork lug, so heavy adv bike you get more flex, this is why they wear the coating off as it puts side load on the bushings, you should replace bushings and oil every 50 hours on a enduro bike, and not all black anodising is hard enough, you have 3 options with uppers, hard anodizing only comes in black and clear gray color then you have Kashima coating, not as hard of a coating as black hard anodizing but its impregnated with molymendrum lubricant micro particles makes it very slippery and under side load reduces the stickshion keeps fork moving smoothly through the stroke without binding,
