Do not let them silence you. I am a victim. I still suffer.

didn't know this. but makes sense, since the meds usually take months to fully build up in the body when you start, it would take even longer to cleanse itself of. And sudden fluctuations in any body chemical, let alone SSRIs, can cause grave issues.

You are a godsend, Dr. Witt-Dörring. You saved my life and many other lives, and you still have a long way to go. Thanks for raising awareness about this deadly and unrecognized problem. I am currently living between Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. In Italy, thanks to Prof. Cosci at the University of Florence (she co-authors many articles on PAWS you have cited), there is some awareness. Her group is also helping many people. In the German-speaking area, instead, there is almost no information. Something must be done to help suffering people there who do not speak English.

I use Zoloft, and I've had some of this. Only God has kept me going.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for informing us about protracted withdrawal. My GP had never heard of this and is treating me like I’m a “know it all”, and I now worry if my healthcare will be jeopardized 😢

This happened to me 2 years ago. It's as real as gravity.😊

This is absolutely brilliant. I’m so pleased that protracted withdrawal is starting to be recognised by the medical community in the northern hemisphere. Australia as a country seems to be lagging behind, even though we have brilliant Aussie doctors overseas advocating slow tapers. I’ve experienced this form of brain injury with Cymbalta, ranging from times when I’ve accidentally missed a dose or had the dosage reduced too quickly under the supervision of an uninformed doctor. It has taken me weeks to months to recover. Luckily I’ve found an open-minded integrated medical doctor and amazing compounding chemist to assist with a slower taper now. The slow, gentle approach is the way to go. I want to live the rest of my life free of psychiatric medication and I’ll get there eventually. 😊

I was on celexa for a few years and I had a bad doctor that had me taper in two weeks. Yeah, I think I had seretonin syndrome. My last taper off celexa was helped by Klonopin. But now I'm tapering off of that. Still nervous, but I'm trying

I suffered terribly from Cymbalta. It took me over 4 years to slow taper. Please keep giving this message.

Thankyou for your great work Dr Josef. I have developed PAWS at 14 weeks off. My Dr took me off Valium 25mg daily to zero in 24 days, in Tasmania Australia.
This is just so wrong 🙈

I have taken diazepam for almost 20 years now. 5mg up to 4 times a day as needed for vestibular migraines and vertigo. I only take 5mg in the morning and 5mg at night. How would I taper off. I tried to stop abruptly and didn’t realize what it would do. So restarted with these doses and they have stopped the terrible withdrawal symptoms. But how do I taper from here?

Thank you I feel like you've saved my life❤❤❤

What if you can’t lower your dose even very very slightly without having severe withdrawal symptoms? I am feeling like I will have to take this medication forever. 😢
