The only problems are 1. We don't know how to access a stable wormhole, or even if a stable wormhole is possible, and 2. We don't know how to fold space without negative energy, which probably doesn't exist. And 3. Even if we could generate sufficient negative energy to fold space, we don't know what effect that would have on planetary systems in our path. It could be that every time we engaged our warp drive entire planetary systems would be disrupted.
