Even if tachyons exist they would not be "real, " or at least their mass would not be.

Personally I would love for tachyons to exist because, at least to me as a mathematician, the idea of something having an imaginary or even complex valued mass is such a fun concept.

Tachyons are basically imaginary particles that work in a frame where time is reversed. That's why bullet hits you before being shot. It's like watching a movie in reverse. So everything is reversed, be it laws of thermodynamics, negative entropy etc.

what if that tachyon is infact darkness? We often assume that nothing travels faster than light, yet darkness is always present. Example, it takes the light from the stars billions of years to reach us yet we forget that before that light from the star had reached us, darkness was already with us. Is it not logical that dark is faster than light? In other words, whil light is struggling to race for billions or even trillions of years, darkness had already won the race. Dark had won it even before light thought of starting to move lol!

I never hear what these particles would be like. Are they the counterparts to standard particles - proton, neutron, electron, quark etc? Do they have mass, charge, spin? Is there more than one type of faster than light particle (if any then many)? Does it even have to be a particle at all?

Guys the tachyon violates the notions of causality only if we assume that multiple actions can lead to the same identical result, but if we look back the law of action and result is like an injective math function, one action can only lead to one result at a specific point in time, and one result can only be born from one action at the same point in time, so if we're given the action we can find the result, and if we're given the result we can trace back to the action, so there is nothing that prevents tachyon from existing bcz result before action MIGHT actually make sense

Light itself has a greater speed than c by travelling in a wave pattern at the velocity of c in a vacuum. Saying you can't send information at greater than c is just a cop out.
