Misha is going to be running a Honda civic with a spoon engine. and on top of that he just came into Harry's and he ordered a T66 turbo, with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust.

These older Hondas are the exact kind of cars that got me into cars in the first place. In highschool, a buddy of mine built a stripped EK civic with a B18 swap that absolutely screamed when you hit VTEC. I'll never forget that feeling and I've been chasing that kind of excitement since. People that bash on Honda's just absolutely don't know jack about cars and I'll always instantly write-off anything else they have to say. Lightweight, properly sorted, high revving motors will always be a winning formula no matter which wheels are driven.

As a dedicated Honda man, i feel a strong need to give you a few advices regarding the build:

Brakes:
you need a 1" master cylinder and booster from an integra dc2 wich will give you a proper feel and pedal travel.

with this you can either upgrade to dc2 282mm brakes and 262mm rear brakes if it doesnt allready have them. or you can use accord type R 2 pot calipers with the same discs. in therms of discs you either run dc2 discs if you have the 5 lug or you run mg zs160 discs if its still a 4x100 lug axles.

Steering
seems to be non power steering rack? wich would mean its probably from an eg3. this means it has a very slow steering ratio. you dont want that. i would strongly reccomend a dc2 steering rack. its the fastest rack for an eg/ek chassis. you can run it de powered (i wouldnt) or run it with a power steering adapter kit and a dc5 pump or put in an electric pump from an mr2.

the rear arches have been widened it seems and that can be difficult because of rust. maybe check the inside of the wheelarches from the trunk. pull out the trunk trim on the sides and see if there is rust on the backside of the arches.

about the shifter
it should be adjustable and the shifter cables do look like they are aftermarket.

needless to say im obviously looking forward to every little video involving this car ❤

To all the Honda haters - a professional driver who drives all kinds of high end cars has just bought an old Civic to have fun.

I'm not one bit surprised by this. None of your videos have more joy than the Civic/Integra ones. Hondas of this vintage are brilliant to drive on the street and I'm not surprised they're brilliant on track too when properly equipped.

I'm not a track driver so I went the other direction: I have a '95 Legend sedan, still brilliant after 320k km.

K20 is one of the best N/A engines ever engineered. Honda at its peak. It's why I'm sticking one in my Mx5 na

Looking good! Hope you have fun with the car.

Should do:
- ITR steering rack (quicker ratio) or similar
- Subframe rigid collars (Spoon etc.)
- At least 3 point strut bar and brake cylinder brace, the firewall is really soft
- Reinforce rear subframe, or it will tear out with a thicker anti roll bar. ASR makes some nice hollow bars with different wall thickness
- OEM RRC intake manifold (from FD2) if you want to upgrade
- For suspension geometry correction, might want to look at Honed Developments parts
- There is a Dr. of engine development who built a crazy K20, Dr. Markus Raindl, would be awesome if you could work together (260 Nm 4800-8350 1/min as NA 2l)

Should not do:
- Most PU bushings on the rear trailing arms (big bushing). That bushing should give Lapo a lot to think about. It makes the whole trailing arm move backwards under braking which makes the rear wheels toe in. If you make that bushing too rigid, in can bind up, and also the rear wheels go to static toe-out under braking → snap oversteer you can't catch.

I’ve recently been having my eyes opened about what makes Hondas and their engines so respected in the car community. Awesome to know that a K20 civic is Misha’s #1 and that he owns one now

There is nothing like having your dream car, and i feel that the longer the wait the more rewarding it is to drive it for the first time. Congrats Misha, what a great car you have bought!! The sound of that engine is only comparable to Beethovens 5th Symphony

This car is my visual sweet spot. Something about the simplicity of the stock body, beige paint, and those BBS wheels.

my Ej2 is around 980kg with full interior etc... but i did remove PS, AC, heater etc... sound deadening and some other things, race battery and a fiberglass hood with a bucket seat etc, also still have the sunroof, so i think you can get 900 no prob if u strip everything out

Absolutely love the fact you actually went with a honda k series after hinting at it for years.. Have even more love for your channel now.
Definitely rid of that cheap shifter and cables and go with an ACUITY 4 WAY SHIFTER and BUSHINGS, its hands down the best shifter for k series and put stock shifter OEM cables back in.

Honda has always been so good with their suspension geometry, my 1989 prelude has double wishbone front and rear with a mechanical 4ws system. It handles amazing on some nankang ns2r tyres

I have an EG Sedan Turbo, same gen, really fun car. Very light, aerodinamic, good gearbox and easy to manouver thanks to the great suspension. Really great car. Its awesome that you came to the same conclussion while driving 500 different cars a year, amazing!!! Honda should go back to this roots... 100%

Congratulations. That’s the best body shape for track use. When we raced those in “stock” form with B16A6 engines they were faster than the later shape 4dr. Some flat Under body panels and a small rear spoiler added significantly to the speed and grip.

So nice!!!! I’m a BMW dude and also driving on the Ring and man do I love the old Civics. Especially the ones with a K engine. My fav is the EP3 and the EK9 with a swap. I wish one day to build one ❤

I am so in love with the fact that Mr Misha is a true HONDA FAN BOY out of all the cars he's experienced in this world. Honda is an amazing car in all ways, they are sexy, sound great and have great performance. I am a proud owner of a Honda Dc5 Japanese spec in the iconic championship white.
