Could desoldering just the pin and leave the others work still? I'm doing a switch SPDT which one on is making it on and the other on without any wiring off - so will that work to disable the chip if I used a SPDT Switch

Very good tut. But I was hoping you were going to attach that wire to a switch. The reason being that turning the Region Free On/Off is beneficial to still being able to play some unlicensed games that actually require the Region Chip to On.
