What’s so cool about the Wii U is that it can pretty much play every Nintendo games from the NES to the Wii U, and handhelds too
The only two systems you can’t play are Switch and 3DS

Pro tip is that a modded Japanese console will work for playing USA games, since the whole system can be had for as little as 70 dollars on Ebay and you just have to mod it. Only downside is the Japanese menu but who cares when all the games play fine in English. Make sure to use Aroma with the necessary plugins and have a camera translator phone app.

I bought mine around the early days of the Nintendo Switch 1. So around late 2018. I found the black version at a Goodwill for $100, was kind of an impulse buy, but I dont regret it, I recently modded my original Wii with USB Loader GX to use with a CRT and I'm probably going to mod the Wii U for my HDMI TV.

Wii U was underrated but it would have been better if it played gamcube games and have gamcube controller ports

Its sad to say but wii u is my favourite console
1. Its always ready. My switch tend to be dead when i want it.
2. Its a big screen
3. You get a switch and a wii for the price of a wii
4. Best: All games SNES NeS, SEGA N65 NGC DS GB GBA WII can all play.
Unless switch 2 can play all the above (9 consoles plus wii u) im not ever buying it.
What they could do is have the same consept. A wireless box. Kinda like PS Portal. Which is actually useful.
