Sony a6700: Worth It or Nah?

Well, it really depends what are you upgrading from, me personally, I went from a6000 and this camera finally has all the photography features for me to worth the money, unlike the predecesors, full tilt screen, better dynamic range, better battery, waterseal, ibis, more bells and whistles!! 😊

This constant theme from videographers that the a6700 is not worth it for photos only is garbage. Just the addition of the front dial makes it worth the upgrade. Not to mention the better autofocus and focus stacking features.

The autofocus is so amazing, I also like the small body.

I use it for photography work and the picture coming out it with the proper lighting and camera setting is amazing
Combined with the best apsc lenses 23 mm 1.4 sigma, the 56 mm 1.4 sigma
And the 35 mm 1.8 oss sony for videos 🎉

Having that flippy screen is reason enough for me to upgrade from the 6300. Upward shots would be so much easier with that. And i want a dedicated wheel for each point of the exposure triangle

Just upgraded to film travel videos. Was on the a6300 prior for 7 years before switching.

Im not upgrading... however i will upgrade! I am currently using a Sony a6300... bought on release.... im a photographer 100%. So i dont care at all about the 4k video features! Im looking at the a6400 or the a6600 (rather small price difference).

Upgrade even if it's just for photos, the AI on that thing is crazy. It's the best apsc so far, worth it.

I got used a7iv for price of a a6700 from a dealer. So look out for that, size difference is just the view finder. But I agree if you shoot photos and don't mind smaller sensor a6000 is still a nice option, can get them cheaply used.

I'd love to upgrade to this from my A6400, but I can't justify the ~$1000 incl. tax (assuming I'd get $500-$550 from selling my A6400). I only use my camera for photography, so it just isn't worth it given my lenses all have stabilization and I own 4 batteries (so I never run out of juice).

Upgraded to it from my ZV-E10 Mainly for pictures since I already own a ZV-E1 as my main for video, but I love the small apsc form factor, the zve10 was nice but definitely not was I was looking for when getting into cameras a year ago

the small size of the a6600 and a6700 is appealing for an every day carry or travel camera but for this type of camera i personally find having to buy a separate lens a little annoying tbh :/

Depending on the camera you actually have

Ofc with a A6400 or A6600 you are just fine as well and better hope for a A8000 or so
