Which two cameras would you like to see compared next?

Dude, seriously. Shoutout to you for being the first camera person I’ve seen online talk about cameras prices and actually including the price of the lens in your video. It’s frustrating how most people just skim over that, when they know beginners / people buying there first mirrorless camera have to buy both. You can’t use a camera without a f’n lens.

The way you assemble these videos, present the dialogue, and bring in the visuals is so effective at transferring the information to the viewer. A lot of it has to do with your voice - not monotone, not overly enthusiastic, but just nuanced. Thank you for the videos man very helpful. I've watched quite a few and because you find such a balance between not rushing... but not dragging things out... I rarely find myself skipping around the timeline in your vids... usually just start the vid and watch all the way through because your presentation is so good rarely a second is added that is not adding something. Awesome man.

I have both the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) and the A6700 - I find both have their time and place to shine in my workflows and both produce great, highly usable footage.

This is a very well done comparison video, I don't understand why it seems so hard for many reviewers to do a logical, practical, comprehensive test like this. Obviously much work went into this, I hope you'll be rewarded with many new subs!

This is a masterclass in how to do a Comparison Video - superb thanks for understanding exactly what us viewers want and delivering an engaging and helpful video. It’s an A6700 for me!

Are you kidding me? REAL optics, the ability to put high quality glass on, a large sensor, way better low light performance, way more features and options. A real DSLR and mirrorless camera blows any iPhone out of the water. How is this even a debate?

This is hands down the best camera comparison video I've seen. So often youtubers talk about spec sheets or do pixel peeping comparisons when none of that matters in the real world for an average user.

As a beginner who wants to make a purchasing decision, all I want to see is a side by side comparison of typical shooting scenarios that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both cameras.

My only suggestion is to call out when you're shooting pro-res log vs not (or alternatively just show all footage as log since that's the best footage you can squeeze from the phone!)

you sir will be my go to for gear videos. providing real use cases for me is LEAGUES better than typical spec comparison videos. The quality of your videos is insane too. I hope 2024 is the year where your channel exponentially grows

This is a great comparison Joe. I like how you compare a lot of different scenarios to make it fair. A lot of YouTubers make these comparisons and put shots side by side that are very difficult to tell apart (i.e. ideal scenarios for the iPhone). While it is very impressive what you can get out of the small sensors in Phones nowadays, in my opinion the image quality is still much better in a proper camera. You just need to know how to work with it to get most out of it. Watching the video on a high end 4k monitor I could easily tell the cameras apart in your first shots, however this would have probably been a lot more difficult if I watched it on a phone😜. For somebody who simply wants to capture exciting moments but doesn't really want to learn how to use a camera, a phone or an action cam is perfect, but for somebody who wants to learn video and photo properly, I would always recommend something like the A6700 over the iPhone. Also from a lifecycle point of view. If you invest in a A6700, you will very likely still use it and have fun with it in 5 years, but with the iPhone you will have upgraded at least twice in the same timeframe. In my opinion it's also way more fun to work with the A6700 and try out different lenses😉

The fact that even iPhone camera quality is comparable to dslr quality with twice the price is absolutely amazing

Just brought my 6700 2 days ago and it’s still otw to me can’t wait to get it! I started my channel with a iPhone XR and a Sony hx80 and got rid of both and currently use iPhone 13 and a GoPro 9 now I’m finally getting a real deal camera. But I’ll never forget how clutch the iPhone was don’t let anyone tell u that you need to wait to have a camera to start a YouTube or to even be a photographer when u have a good phone!

This a great video. What I just heard confirmed my belief that phones, while neat and definitely getting better, still can't compete with a dedicated camera. The amount of image quality loss "if this" or low light struggles "when that just prove that until you can get a bigger sensor in a phone, you'll have to be very smart and on top of your pre production planning to get the shots you want with an iphone.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I know when it comes to APS-C camera territory this is sony’s flagship as of today. Now we are comparing flagship to flagship camera with each of them have different sensor size. The iPhone 15 Pro is using Sony IMX-803 1/1.28-inch image sensor while Sony A6700 uses a BSI CMOS APS-C sensor. Now in my opinion. I believe that sony can do more on their camera software cause seeing these two compete in a well lit environment such as daylight with a minor difference is mind blowing. Sometimes I prefer the iPhone 15 pro in some certain shots and some shot for the sony A6700. The Sony A6700 shines in low light cause of the bigger sensor, natural bokeh and interchangeable lens. The downside of Sony A6700 is if you gonna make it a filming setup, you have to invest on a good quality equipment which will cost you a lot of money. Now the iPhone in the other hand is so amazing with that small sensor size. With right amount of lightning you won’t even tell the difference between the two especially for an average person. If you do a filming setup for your iPhone you don’t have to spend a lot and lastly it is a smartphone which is can do a lot of things like web browsing, social medias, gaming, video call, voice recording and more. Sony A6700 is built as camera so the main job of it is to do camera while the iPhone is built for pretty much everything. Since the Sony A6700 is camera, I expect more since it doesn’t have other things to do like the iPhone does.

There is no argument in deciding if you buy a camera or a phone. A camera might be more expensive but it will still be working in sixteen years.
I bought the Nikon D300 when it first came out in 2008. It still works and takes great pics. The phone I had back then went into landfill years ago, because the battery failed or the software updates hobbled it. I bought the Sony A6700 because it was lighter and easier to carry than my D300. If I had bought an IPhone 15 I would be buying another one in 3 years to get the next best thing in phone camera or to replace the now obsolete software.
If you want to take proper photos, then buy a camera. It is way more cost effective, with much better results.

The last part with the 6700 kit vs iphone in a studio is the most informative. It seems the iphone has a huge disadvantage in a low light scenario.

Amazing job!! I would choose the Sony a6700, I think the video performance is better, even when the features of the iphone are quite useful. And Well, It all depends on what the camera will be using

Sony really REALLY needs to work on their internal fans tbh, they have had overheating problems with ever camera I have gotten from them. The Sony ZVE10 actually almost never over heats surprisingly and its the cheapest mirrorless camera from them if Im not mistaken

Fantastic video as usual. The work you put into your videos really shows. Very informative and high quality.

I borrowed the a6700 at a recent Sony event and shot some test footage. I have the FX30, and I was looking at the a6700 as a possible b-cam. Suffice it to say, if I didn't have the FX30, I would buy the a6700 first. The test footage I shot was incredible. I shot in both 800 ISO and 2500 ISO. Both were very clean and the colors were great.

Thanks again for an incredible comparison video.
