About the last tip. This is why the more languages you know, the easier it is to learn new languages. I know Ukrainian, Russian, English and Polish and it is super easy for me to find associations and shortcuts both in grammar and vocabulary. Learning languages is the most useful thing ever)

Wonderful tips. I'd be wary to associate a word like Advocado with avocado. That word combo becomes guacamole in my brain. Advocado/Attorney reminds me of the English word Advocate. I expect both come from the same Latin root. Equating Advocado with Advocate would make more sense inside by brain.
I really appreciated your first tool - to speak aloud words and phrases. Nothing points out my holes in learning better than trying and failing. If I was an actor, (I'm not), I would repeat my lines over and over out loud to learn them. It's not hard to see the same results learning a language.

Advogado sounds like advocate, which is what a lawyer will do for you. The latin root is extremely helpful recognizing a word meaning. I don't know how avocado relates to lawyer.
