Today's video is all about ways to practice speaking a new language. Getting speaking practice while learning a foreign language at home can be really difficult, but there are plenty of ways to practice on your own. You don't want to slack on speaking, because it's the most important part of learning a language! If you want to communicate with other learners or native speakers, you need to start challenging yourself to practice speaking the language more often. Once I forced myself to speak more, my Italian improved much faster. I hope these tips are helpful - happy studying!

A few months ago I could’ve never imagined speaking with a native speaker but after you posted about Italki I decided to try it out and it was the best decision I’ve made!!

I needed to go back to this video, Shea. I started to use Tandem this past weekend and I had 3 conversations in Portuguese with 3 brazilian people (2 of them orally) and it felt so good. I was even impressed with the amount of vocabulary I already have for my still very low level.

The guy from the 'Language Lords' channel just made a video with his method for Spanish. He added more steps that weren't on his French video. And, I just started using Tandem to message people. I love Tandem more than Hello Talk.

First of all, long time no see Queen, I missed your beneficial videos a lot, and second of all, thank you ever so much for budgeting strategies or methods like these, that's mighty kind of you and that's mean a lot to me. Greetings from Colombia.

As for communication skills I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. This method is called: chunking. It was a real game changer in my learning process in English and other languages.😊

Hi Shea! It's nice to see a video from you again. I was learning Spanish and stopped for a couple of months. But now I am going to Mexico in September!! The trip brought back my motivation and I set July 1st as my date to begin learning again. It's funny to see that Italian lady saying the phrases in English, I do that with Spanish too! I play You Tube videos at .75 speed and repeat after them. It really helped with my accent!

Hi Shea, what a great video. Right now I am learning Portuguese and I have a good tutor from Brazil using Italki. So I totally agree that Italki is a great way of learning. I like the way you explain to use different tools and methods to enhance your learning.
