I am contemplating buying a sim for home use. Anybody know of an application that can provide challenging scenarios such as this departure, then grade the user's performance? I have an instrument rating but haven't flown since passing the checkride 8 months ago. I want to maintain currency without continuing to having to pay the nearby flight school huge sums to use their Redbird, which I've been doing every 2-3 months since earning the rating. Use of their Redbird also requires paying one of the CFII's there, the school's policy. I'd rather invest in flight simulation hardware and software for home use. Suggestions welcomed, my budget is generous but not unlimited, thank you!
