I always manually color my drawings because of how freaking relaxing it is, i know its a big fat waste of time... BUT ITS SO SATISFYING

The grey background is so nice bc you make sure you don’t miss anything. It makes the background easier

I use bucket fill lol. You just have to mess with the settings until it's good. I fill my lines in with the same color as my lines, fix any white spots that got missed, and boom.

Edit: didn't realize this would get so popular LOL here's my settings for those asking (clip studio)
close gap & area scaling at max
what you really want to mess with is the "tolerance". turning it up will fill in more gaps that were missed before. (a lot of art programs have tolerance settings, not just csp)
on csp the tolerance is touchy so you might have to mess around a lot

Select all outside the pic, inverse, slap a base grey down. That way it doesn't leave empty bits inside the pic, like tips of hair. Then it's bucket on a clipped layer for specifics.

I’m a supporter of the gray base layer just because I like making transparent PNGs of my work and I was sick of constantly seeing holes where the linework wasn’t completely opaque.

Clip Studio Paint’s bucket fill is the best bucket I’ve ever used, especially since it ignores those small gaps in the lines.

I'm a manual girl! It's very tough and time consuming to get it done, but at the same time you can spot your mistakes and color in efficiently.

People who color everything on a single layer are the true psychopaths. They scare me.

Edit : i'm talking about those who use one layer when they *can* use multiple. Having a device/software that doesn't allow you to do that is completely fine.

Grey base is so you get the entire figure’s silhouette blocked out so you can use it as a reference layer or lock transparency and no longer have to worry about coloring outside the lines!

Bucket user 🖐️
It just saves so much time, I’m always adjusting the settings for the bucket and I’ve never had a problem with it

I love bucket fill, it saves me so much time. You just have to make sure your lineart is properly connected.
