Hi Josh - Firstly, I love your channel and all of the great tips and advise you provide. I just followed along to your iPhone changes and inadvertently locked myself out of my phone doing the SIM PIN. It took a trip to my provider for a new SIM card to regain access. Apparently, the SIM card comes with a default four-digit code that you have to enter BEFORE you change (set) the SIM PIN. My phone provider didn't know that either and simply did a Google search for the default SIM PIN code and there it was. "1234." Yes, that's actually the default code. All the more reason to follow your suggestion to lock down your SIM. I was then able to set an 8-digit PIN. I hope this helps other viewers. Keep up the great work. Cheers!

I would appreciate a video on the YUBKEYS used with iPhone AND the password manager in them.

I just watched this video. It was very informative.

I have a few questions:

1. Apple told me that I don't need a virus checker on IOS and that a virus checker will slow down my phone and IPad. Is that true?

2. Since the video is two years old do you still recommend Trend Micro for IOS?

3. In addition to having a few IOS devices, I have a Windows 10 (I am considering upgrading to Windows 11) laptop. I am using a paid version of AVAST on my Windows device. Would I be better off switching to Trend Micro on Windows?

4. I am using 1Password as my password manager. Am I correct that I am better off staying with 1Password then using Trend Micro's password manager?

Thanks

!!!WARNING!!! When Josh at 2:32 talks about "Add a SIM PIN" the information is not complete. Your iPhone will most likely ask you what your default or old sim pin is, which sometimes but not always is 1111 or 1234 or 0000. If you get it wrong three times you will be LOCKED out of your phone until you get a PUK code from your cell phone service provider unless you already have it. Very disappointed at this gross over site.

What do you think about iPhone’s iCloud password manager? Is it safe? Or you use one password because the ui, features, etc?

I’m so pleased you mentioned about keeping children safe on devices. It horrifies me the potential harm a phone etc can do and how many parents shrug this off. Thank you.

I always just use keychain for a password manager. It lets you create unique secure passwords. And it requires no additional setup for your other apple devices

It won't let me set a sim pin code. I've tried twice and have only 1 more try. Any suggestions?

Thank you for the advices!
I’ve been an iPhone user for so long but I have never thought of some cool security features such as securing your iPhone Lock Screen or limiting Photo GPS location data!

Again, thank you as I was unaware every photo sent location info that could be accessed. Also, certain feature I thought needed location that don’t are now off. 😊

Hi Josh, I have 2 questions for you:
a) Do you have a video where you help explain how to navigate an Apple Device (phone or iPad) seeming to require downloading the Yubico App? I tried this over the weekend, and ended up having to go the route of a one time code, as the yubikey wasn't being fully accepted by both my iPhone and iPad. When I tried to install the Yubico App, it began to feel like a rabbit hole, so I thought I'd ask your if you already covered this in a video, or if you could share any helpful tips.

b) Could you please turn on the Spanish subtitle settings for this video?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Josh I’m also living in Thailand! Around 6 months ago I’ve had my iPhone screen replaced and it doesn’t support Face ID which compromises my security in a number of ways. I plan on getting a new phone maybe when the next model comes out but until then what could I do to overcome this and provide the necessary security?
