I have diesel coolant heaters on both my diesel busses... my old DTA360 doesnt even have a grid heater or glowplugs... my webasto saved my bum in minneapolis over new years a couple years ago... it was -22F in the AM when i needed to drive... I was at a hotel no place to plug in, no glowplugs.. (its by desogn.. old IH engines didnt have preheaters.. just plug-ins).. .. my webastop is the big one.. got it from a used school bus that we were scrapping.. refurbished it and put it on mine.. I started it for an hour and run it off my aux batteries.. I turned on the bus defrost ..and it will had my engine up to about 150 in an hour and the interior of the bus was warm enough I coudnt see my breath any more. .it started like summer... and my heaters were already hot so when i went t odirve, the bus warmed up fully inside (with 7 heaters turned on).. since I was driving in town i left the webasto running with the engine as the bus heaters would cool it all down if I didnt.. so if you do a lot of slow driving in a big vehicle.. bus or RV it can help your engine stay at a good operating temperature... once i went to the freeway I turned it off.. the bus has air shutters which then help it stay warmed up.. you csan find the big ones (DBW2010) from used school busses up north often... scrappers often dont know what they are so you can get a good deal.. the big ones operate just like an oil burner furnace / boiler in a home... these small ones like the TSL-17 and EVO operate a little different.. I plumb mine into my main diesel tank.. and set the fuel pickup for it at a height around 1/4 tanl so if I forget and leave it on it cant drain my diesel completely out.. the little ones only use about .1 gallons per hour(US) of runtime f the burner on high.. the big ones (DBW2010) use 0.34 GPH (US) ..thats burner runtime which the burner typically shuts off after warming things up or greatly slows down.. I will turn mine on in the busses even if im going to go shopping or dining in a restaraunt in real cold weather. that way when i come out the heater vents blow hot right away

Gave my life to God/Jesus a few decades ago. But keep up the vids and spreading the good word!

I worked in the oilfield on coiled tubing units and we had webastos as big as window A/C units for our Hydraulics. Lol never seen a small one like that for a pickup. Pretty neat idea. Great videos man

Hey I’m just outside Calgary and have a 91 W250 so the identical heater would be great. What model Wabasto is that

Thanks for the video and the great info on where to get a good deal on one. I called international in Airdrie and had them hook me up with a wabasto thermo top Evo and it was hundreds cheaper than picking one up in BC I highly recommend dealing with them.

No worries man, I found a mechanic who has done many of these. Guess it’s just tracking down the right person. I appreciate the offer and would have hit u up for it had I not stumbled into a solution:)

Do you need a tidy tank? I bought from airdrie like u said. But mechanic said 3500 Cummins has plastic fuel tanks. I can’t add a tidy tank cuz I have dual 6” stacks. What do I do?

how does that work when the engine is cold and the thermostat is closed? If the Thermostat is closed will that not effect circulation of the coolant in the engine?

does it improve the heat at all? i cant drive my 93 in anything past -15 really it feels as if your outside still lol. My plan is to put a cab heater in it next year so i can actually drive it year round
