In this lesson, you will learn what the area of a circle is and how it is calculated. We describe the number Pi and how it is involved in the calculation of the area of a circle. The formula for the area of a circle is equal to Pi times the radius squared. We discuss what this means geometrically, and we calculate the area several circles to give the student practice. We also discuss the units of area such as square meters or square centimeters.

'So, a circle, I cannot draw perfectly'
(draws perfect circle)
Makes a mistake at 15:12 (that 7.14 should have been a 3.14)

15:45 Love your videos. 💯

You have an error. It is not “7.14” as you’ve written. It should be 3.14

In the last problem of the set you said 3.14 but wrote down 7.14 and you used 3.14 in the calculation. When you looked at the white board you expected to see 3.14 so your subconscious mind corrected what your eye was seeing for you.
Just a transposition error. I have done it myself many times. You might wish to do something to correct this. Isn't it amazing how our brain can change what the light rays are imprinting on our retina and correct it to what we believe should show even when we look at the white board later.
This explains why we have so many problems with truth today in communications. It explains why we get deep division in politics or interpretation of facts and stories. It explains why eye witnesses are often unreliable. It explains why we have so much division among groups of individual people. I think this is called cognitive bias and causes cognitive dissonance in individuals.
What a great example for a class in psychology, composition, public speaking, Forensics, political science, religion, research, etc.
I am in no way being critical of your presentation. I rate it excellent with a comment. And I am hoping someone can find a way to use this "operating experience" to help us be a stronger people and a kinder people and nation. I am glad I watched this.
Now I'm going back to check myself to make sure I saw what I thought I saw.
I hope you can find some way of using this valuable learning experience.
✌❤🖖

*Thanksgivings Math:* I have two pumpkin pies that are the same thickness. I want to cut them up so that each slice has the same mass (same surface area should work) while keeping the slices a reasonable portions. The answer for each pie should be an integer number of slices, meaning no odd parts left over. One pie is 12 inches, the other is 8 inches. For extra credit, include a 9 inch size.

A complete review of 3rd semester calculus (e.g., volumes, power series) would be fun. Ciao.
