to be frank - I think the bulk surveilance thing is bad enough - no need to slide in a bit of anti-trump fearmongering. You could just as well have pointed to the current british prime minister or Angela Merkel as bad examples of people you shouldn't give that much power and information to

hell, Germany seems to have the best/worst example currently - since they've made Facebook cooperate with them for the last year to stamp out anti-immigration/refugee speech on german facebook.

The price of multiculturalism, to get all the competing and often mutually exclusive or reviling groups together requires a crack down on civil liberties. Mass surveillance, diversity training, sharia courts, censorship laws, hate speech laws, quoters. Etc. None of which is really necessary in a homogeneous society.
