As a physician you always go with what’s in writing! Never he said, she said stuff!

no written consent from the wife = no change in surgical procedure. It’s that simple

Contracts!!! Whatever she signed for is what she gets and she should’ve been informed of that prior to surgery

She arrived for surgery awake and competent. She had plenty of time to say she changed her mind.

I would do B because that was the last confirmation you had with the patient.

B all the way! She was CLEAR about what she wanted. Hubby can go get his balls enlarged if size is such an issue for him. 😂

B. And get her to sign divorce papers for the husband.

300 cc is what she wanted and would be documented in the medical record. If the husband persists, cancel. I know, NO ONE wants to cancel a surgery. Husband is gaslighting, what a jerk.

300 CC's. Period. The husband is not your patient. The woman is and you know what she wants. And definitely tell her what he told you before the operation.

C. Always verify with the patient. It is her body, her decision.

This situation is why consent forms are so important. The day of my procedure my provider had me confirm verbally and in writing the procedure to be done and forms describing the procedure in detail had to be signed by me. On top of this, a " time out" was done in the OR confirming my name, date of birth, allergies, and the procedure to be done.

Surgery isn’t an “oops, I changed my mind!” kind of thing. You can’t just decide to go with last minute changes. It’s not like a haircut. If I woke up and the surgeon took my husband’s word instead of double checking with me first I’d be pissed (at both my husband and my surgeon). Also, anesthesia is not like something you should be taking multiple times. Insurance doesn’t cover it in elective surgeries typically (and they certainly wouldn’t cover it twice for a mixup), one of the complications could be death, and surgery is a long-prepared for event. If my surgeon woke me up after I was put out, and said, “hey, by the way, just wanted to double check on something. I know you signed release forms and everything but…” I would find another surgeon if that happened.

Let the husband know that surgical materials are ordered based on the paperwork. Changes will require full cancellation and rescheduling will include fees for services already rendered for this surgery. B if he backs down. C with all extra fees if he continues to whine. Anesthesiologists aren’t cheap along with surgical time spent. If it was insurance, they won’t cover that.

Wake the patient and suggest a divorce

B !!! I would definitely only do what she consented to. And I'd also recommend a divorce lawyer 😅

C, you don't need a malpractice lawsuit. Get it in writing with her signature. CYA rule

Give her the 300 and tell the husband that your office can schedule a consult for his 350. Her wishes would have been confirmed in writing with her signature in pre-op.

I'd go with C and then talk with her alone. I want to make sure she actually wants the augmentation (300 cc) and it's not something she does just to keep her husband happy, and her "only" wanting 300 instead of 350 is her trying to compromise.

B. I'd do C if possible but as I know that anesthesia is potentially dangerous, I would choose B. Preferably, you'd want to confirm this with the patient but the less times she has to go under the better.

I would advise the husband that the surgery will be canceled at his expense until you receive clarification from the patient, unless there is a power of attorney document for him to make desicion from her...
