It all depends on the location, and the level of your shifts. Working 17 hour shifts 5 days in a row will inflate your salary. In addition, during residency days, if you take 1-2 years extra for fellowship, you can have a sub specialty. My dad is a general surgeon who also does trauma/critical care and make around $500k and we live in Minneapolis.

In Australia lots of orthodontists make $500k+ a year, but most of them own their own practices, my brother who is 31 and is a civil engineer makes $240k and yet he’s not even that high up in the rankings. Cardiac surgeons working for hospitals make around $800k-1 mil a year ( I know these because my mom is an accountant so whenever I get curious how much a job pays I can just ask her because she often has one of them as her clients, although I’m sure you could always find an exception where they make less money)

i was going to get a tummytuck..went to an appointment couldn't get a bb sitter so my 6 year old daughter came with me to the 100 dollar consult..after dots and arrows and consultation..he was a good doctor..we went home..the next day my bb says mommy I can draw lines better than the doctor..so I let her..God bless her she drew a smiley face and said see magic now your perfect!
