Why I Quit My 6-Figure Wall Street Investment Banking Job

I've officially quit my bulge bracket investment banking job... to do YouTube (jk). But hopefully I'll have some more time for YouTube at least and more interesting content to come (on both investment banking and other relevant topics).

If you're new to my channel, a little bit of background on me: I'm Angela, I worked as an investment banking analyst for two years out of undergrad. Just started YouTube about 4 months back, and also recently quit my investment banking job.

For years I struggled with outstanding debts, bills and my children's school fees. I am a banker earning $2, 500. However, however I am starting to travel towards the end of summer. Good luck! I was in your shoes once so I can relate. Remember that you are still really young and even if you arent sure what you want to do long-term that's totally fine. Learn as much as you can, build your skill-set, and always stay curious. You aren't competing with anyone but the person that you were yesterday.

If you do the best you can in every facet of your life, there is a good chance that down the line you will have very few regrets. Over time, the bar will move higher for what you will consider as your best. So make sure your efforts adjust accordingly. That's all any of us can really do.

Lastly, the passing of time is merely a construct of the mind. Don't let your perception of it create limits for what you are able to achieve. Odds are very good that you will think bigger at 45, 55, and 65 than you can now in your 20's. So just focus on playing the long game & win.

Whoa I just started following you and immediately thought your work schedule was so intense. I’m glad you’re spending more time with things that make you happy. I just quit the mortgage industry and work/life balance was a factor in that. This pandemic has shaken up many people’s lives in unexpected ways and I am in the same position as you. Questioning more and more about what I was “doing” and what makes me happy.
