I would EQ match in HBV with other vocalists. But I have to remember, everyone's voice is different.

Yes. Some of my friends have told me to use match eq. I was a little disgusted xD They have even less mixing experience than I have. I hate that shortcut mindset. Nothing wrong with good tools but that's a little too much for me. I like the message of this video. REAPER. Yeah.

How would a regular person isolate a vocal out of a song to eq match it anyway?

WTF you used that song as an example so many times, I thought it was autotuned hard ... next thing you know, Miami nails it as a casual intro ... FIRE!
