Recently I took some expensive microphones from my friends, U87, Lewitts, and few others and then did the same thing with the pink noise, so I now have my NT1 as a base and then I can use all those FabFilter Q3 and Saturn presets to emulate other microphones, it is basically identical.
But after I did all that I rarely use it as the NT1 is really so similar to any of those, in a blind test they can all be used on the same track, the same song, without anyone knowing the difference.
I think a lot of mythomania is present with LDC microphones, people believe all sorts of nonsense, especially if the microphone is expensive and even more if it is a Neumann.

I like MMM, the moving microphone method, for more consistency in the measurements. Pretty much the same method as you, but you quickly get hundreds of averaged measurements which ends up being much more repeatable.

you should do a tutorial on how to make eq curves in to impulse responses, just a video idea :))

Dude—I was thinking about doing this exact thing this morning but had no idea how. However, I am interested in doing the reverse—modelling microphones to make the NTA-1 sound like others. Have you tried this?
