Adorable Seal enjoys stroke from passersby on shore of Lake Baikal

Just a cute clip from Russia showing a friendly seal enjoying a stroke from passersby.

Footage captured on the shore of Lake Baikal in Siberia on September 21 shows the wild mammal approaching a couple and gazing at them through its large, twinkly eyes.

"Hello, little one," says the man.

The Baikal seal then allows the pair to give it a stroke for a long while and appears to be enjoying the interaction.

The Baikal seal is one of the smallest true seals and the only exclusively freshwater species.

At first this adorable seal with its big eyes seems to zoom straight over to these strange humans to say hello. It seems really curious to see them. Then when the man reaches down to stroke him he looks so confused! Then he obviously likes being petted and is just so happy!! This seal is super adorable and is literally just a water puppy who loves pats!! Its eyes are so expressive it looks like a beanie baby!!

This is a unique seal thanks to being one of the only freshwater species completely isolated and landlocked living only in lake baikal. The lack of fear presented could be caused by the general lack of predators, only brown bears have been recorded preying on adults and that interaction itself is very rare.

I love these glimpses of different species meeting humans and experiencing kindness. I bet he rolled away with a funny little memory outside of his normal existence. He clearly enjoyed the pets lol.
