I used to think the police in Australia were fair and just. I thought they joined because they wanted to help the community. At that time I'd never really delt with the police as I grew up in a small coastal town. Then I took a job running a large caravan park (trailer park). The park had huge drug and mental health issues that the owners wanted me to fix. So I contacted the local police to let them know we were going to clean up the park and make it a safe place for people to live. I have no powers other than that of a landlord. I went to the police for advice and help as I was dealing with high levels violence, drug dealing and child welfare issues. Going to the police was the biggest mistake I ever made. Not only did they abuse me for daring to ask them for help. They actively seemed to be working against me. I'll give a few examples. A brawl between 15 men broke out in the park. I called the police. 45 minutes later they called me and said “Is the fight still going“.. No its finished I said.. "Oh no need for us then" and they hung up. I had a guy firebomb his neighbours van that had children inside. I rang the police. The police asked me a bunch of questions on the phone and when I said they guy was drunk.. and I'm being deadly serious.. they said to me. "Oh he's drunk... We don't hold drunk people at the station.. we take them home... And hes already home" and hung up the phone. I had a 10 year old girl and her 12 year old brother abandoned by their mother in a caravan by themselves. I called both the police and the department of child welfare. They didn't even bother to come look at what I reported. I have literally hundreds of stories like this. Now days I have ZERO respect for the police in Australia. I don't believe... I KNOW they are not working for the public good. In my mind they are worse than the criminals they're supposed to keep us safe from. I know what to expect from a criminal.

An Australian police officer came to my home looking for the previous owner of the property. It was quickly established that I was not the person he was looking for. He wanted tho know my name. I said “my name is not important, what is important is for you to go find the person you are looking for”. He insisted on me providing my name and some identification. I refused and repeated to him “I am not the person you are looking for, we have agreed on this, now you should go and find the person you are looking for”. This police officer became so determined to know my name he threatened to come to my home at odd hours every night until I told him.
Isn’t that harassment?
Why would you have any respect for someone like that. These are the people who form the biggest gang with members allowed to carry guns and paid for with money extorted from us common people
