WILL ANY OF THE CALAMITY TRIO STAY IN AMPHIBIA? - Amphibia - Theory

No coverage of Amphibia Season 3 Episode 3. Instead, I wanted to talk about whether or not Anne Boonchuy Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu will go home or decide to stay in Amphibia. Interesting stuff!

In season 3 of Amphibia, we see Anne Boonchuy, and the Plantars, Sprig, Hop Pop and Polly, sent to Earth! Meanwhile, Sasha Waybright and Grime team up with the citizens of Wartwood to take down Andrias, who appears to have big plans for Marcy Wu.

Thinking about it it makes so much sense, Anne, the one that saw both good and bad in amphibia might travel between there and earth, sasha who wanted to leave and saw only bad in this world, now sees the frog's value and wants to protect them to also redeem herself, and lastly, Marcy, who saw only good in this fantasy world now knows the madness and terror and will aprecciate more what she had on earth

If one of them does end up staying, I’m hoping it won’t be Marcy, because I feel it would completely contradict her arc of having to face reality. If she gets to stay and prosper in Amphibia, she won’t learn her lesson that she has to face her issues head on instead of running off to some fantasy land

Hopefully If none of them doesn't die or end up sacrificing themselves, will might make It till Christmas without any stupid cliffhangers or rushed endings.

Anne: Definitely no, Sasha:Maybe, Marcy:If the others don't, then no.
Anne had to put up with wartwood hating her and sleeping on the floor.
Sasha felt like a boss in amphibia, even trying to take over with Grime.
Marcy doesn't want to go home because her parents will just make her leave but if it's just her staying, she might not have a choice so I don't know about her.

My theory would be Sasha ends up staying in Amphibia to become Grime’s official daughter to help clean up any damage while also protecting Amphibia from any threat and harm while Anne stays on Earth with her parents visiting The Plantars anytime she wants (If Hop Pop doesn’t pass away of course) and Marcy now grown up, more mature, wise and considerate would have accepted her parents’ decision on moving to another country for another adventure and making new friends. The girls would break up their friendship they created when they were youths because of all the manipulation, pain and impact they caused to each other but always keep contact to always remember each other no matter what.

I hope that both Amphibia and The Owl House will give our heroins the option to visit both worlds whenever they like. I'm aware that is just wishful thinking, but ya never know.

I think it would be Marcy in a tragic way. I believe they won't be able to fully extract the Night out of her and the only way to keep it tamed is for her to stay in Amphibia and to protect the human world from it's threat. (Or, God forbids, she has to sacrifice herself) Eitherway, this will be her taking responbilities for her actions and realizing that not everything is a game and life has brutal consequences she has to now endure...

You pretty much nailed down both Anne and Sasha, but thinking about Marcy if it does turn out that she has a loving and caring family, then maybe she will end up staying. But I really hope Marcy and Anne can travel between Amphibia and Earth.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them stayed. I don't think Anne would stay because she loves her home and her family too much. I could see Marcy or Sasha staying for different reasons. I could see Marcy staying bc her family might have moved after not being able to find her but I think she would likely go back to her world bc the lesson she needs to learn is that she can't always just escape reality and it would be good character development. I think Sasha could stay and be Amphibia's leader or she could at least stay and help people learn to fight. I do at least want her to apoloze to the toads for not stoping with the mission when they got scared

Id actually like Sasha to stay in amphibia, granted Anne had the chance to go in and out worlds, that way Sasha would not only be able to remain in contact with the friend she'll try to make amends with but also will be the one responsible of protecting her frog family and frog friends overall
Sasha is my favorite so I hope her character grows a lot

I don't feel confident enough to theorize until we know exactly what's gonna happen to Marcy, and until we finally meet her and Sasha's parents or at least get a glimpse of their respective home lives.

I'd like to see the Girl's split their time between Earth and Amphibia. I could see one of them settling down in Amphibia but even they'll travel to earth every now and then.

I have thought about these girls and I realized, both Anne and Sasha did everything to get back home. Marcy, on the other hand, only did a bunch of fun stuff in newtopia, as we saw in her theme song takeover.

Honestly, this makes a lot of sense from where their character arcs are going. Sasha hated her old life. Her being a protector of this new world alongside the toads seems fitting and would be a nice way to cap off her redemption arc. Marcy used Amphibia as a way to escape and ignore real life. So her character arc, from what I can tell, seems to be learning to face her own problems and not run away from them. Her staying in that would stagnate her character, especailly after being controlled and used as a weapon. Anne has a good home life, but also has a strong bond with the Plancers, so she would probably go back to the other world to visit, but live in her homeworld. This pretty much shows a balanced outcome for this situation through the three's decision.

Interesting theory. It makes sense for Anne to return home and Sasha to help rebuild Amphibia and stay to protect it. As for Marcy, originally I thought she'd stay as well, but after hearing your theory and reasoning it would make sense for Marcy to return to Earth and face reality instead of running away. So far Anne and Sasha have had their character arcs, Anne becoming more responsible and Sasha realizing how her controlling nature has hurt others and herself, so Marcy's could be that she learns she can't run from reality forever. To have Marcy return home and reunite with her parents, and show how much she's grown as a person, would be a nice ending. Although if Sasha is still in Amphibia and Anne is the only one who can visit her, where does that leave Marcy? I was thinking after Marcy went missing her dad would have given up the job and her parents would stay in LA hoping she'd come home. If Marcy were to return home and move away with her parents, will she stay friends with Anne and Sasha or will she have gained enough confidence from her experiences to make new friends wherever she ends up? Hopefully Anne and Sasha will have the ability to reconcile with her.

Personally, I don't think there will be an option for Anne to travel to Amphibia back-and-forth. I bet the Calamity box will be destroyed in the finale, and wothout it, travelling between worlds is impossible.
Unless Anne and the Plantars manage to find a way to construct their own portal of some sorts to return back to Amphibia, which they most likely will. However, it probably will be very crude and pretty unstable to travel through it more than couple times...

I personally like to think that by the end Anne would have to say goodbye to the Plantars and Amphibia forever.
