About:
I am a professional colorist and have worked with brands such as Prime Video, Adidas, Toyota, Vizio, etc. Outside client work, I run a color academy with over 6000 students. My channel mostly focuses on the taste-making (subjective) aspect of color grading. With the rise of AI, I truly believe that most of the grunt, technical (how-to) tasks will be handled by the software, and the job of a colorist will be purely driven by their art and imagination.

I have worked in many rooms with many great colorists for many years... you're ability to explain and show ans simplify is the most effective I have seen. Really appreciate your time taking on subtleties and creating perfection. I am using many techniques you have taught me and feel I have never been capable of this level of work before. Thank you.

Finally some advance stuff ! This is so simple yet so valuable. I already used all these techniques but I was kind of doing too much. Gonna hold back a bit from now

it helps so much that you include the commands on screen. that’s something I’d always wished for when watching this type of content. after watching you address certain things as mistakes in other videos, I realized most people that I learned from in the past demonstrated these mistakes so now I exclusively watch your videos and Jakes videos for color grading. thank you so much for this! I learned a lot 😃

I'd like to say I really appreciate how you've slowed down your speech a little in the last year. It has made the biggest difference in enjoying these tutorials. You're the GOAT.

For those wondering about what's happening in the Halation part:
He dials the Dye Layer(sounds like 'Dilator' in the video) down to nearly zero and then brings them back up, and increasing the spread. For some reason it doesn't come on screen - I believe that's it!

Great tutorial as always!

I watch every video with interest and learn the most from your videos. I'm interested to see how things work with low quality videos, for example a video from MavicPro 1 or a GoPro, I know they are not in the movie world, but it will still be an experience for us beginners to learn to color better. Thanks and good luck in the future

you're just giving so much knowledge out just like that... amazing channel!!
may I ask: do you see a video on unrealistic (surrealistic) coloring happening soon? (I mean purple trees, red skies, yellow seas, well those would be extreme kitchy examples, just to make my question a bit more clear, but I mean anything from really subtle unrealistic tweaks to controlled yet massive changes)
