I'm from Spain and I recommend to all the motorsport fans to go to the Fernando Alonso's museum. It has all the F1 that have driven Fernando (except 2017 and 2021), karts, Toyota TS050, Toyota Hilux, Indy500 2017 car, ... and they will add the Cadillac DPi in the next months.

Ferrari gave Kimi the car he won the Austin GP in. Also, his last win in F1

Definitely would put mine is a museum if I was in F1. Those cars are a huge inspiration for kids and adults everywhere.

I saw somewhere, Fernando always includes a part in his contract which says he will keep the car after the season.

The old 2020 Ferraris went to several farms ... they always need some nice tractors

I would 100% keep my f1 car in my house. There's others around to go to a museum so I'd keep it.

Nice to know that those cars get put to good use, a fitting retirement imo

Living in Hürth (Germany) it was quite funny to see my home adress in a random video about f1 cars on your channel haha. :D

Kimi had a bonus option in his contract with Lotus where he would be paid a lot for podiums, which he got many of while driving for them. To the point they didn't have the funds to pay them and would go bankrupt on the pay-out, so he got one of his cars as compensation as they would've lost spectacularely in court.
Don't fuck with the Ice Man! I'm going to miss him.

I’ve seen two of the Ferrari days here in Georgia, USA. There was a 2001 Shumi car and it was probably the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen

Alonso is the best example of a driver preserving his legacy.

I would love to go to his museum one day.

I'd put it in a museum without giving up the ownership. Considering those cars are not capable of cranking without extensive preparations like preheating the engine, because the tolerances are so tight it would do much better as a public exhibit (no touchy though) than a room ornament. Now if I had the money and skill to actually drive one, I'd take it for a cruise drive of Nurburing while filming it. People wanted to see a modern F1 on that track for ages.

Before I was in to F1 back in 2013, Ferrari brought the 2012 (I think) car to my university campus. One of the coolest things I've ever touched.

I'd like to know what a team does when they change engine supplier and use an older car

Take redbull for example, they now have Honda engines but what goes in them when they bring out one that had a Renault engine?
Matt said the teams who aren't engines suppliers are required to give the components back too so I'm very interested about this one

I remember a temporary F1 exhibit that was at my local museum in 2009, featuring several important historic cars from every decade of F1, that really made me appreciate just how absolutely incredible the design and engineering of F1 has been. Seeing the cars up close (and sneaking a quick touch of a few) also made me realise that TV didn't really display the cars as they truly were, especially the older ones that looked more like homemade go-karts than the semi-mythical beasts I always saw them as when I was younger. For that reason alone, I say the more of F1 that gets displayed in public museums the better!

Ferrari is definetly the best at preserving old f1 cars, since they still host trackdays for the older cars

I live in Italy, and i have gone in the Ferrari museum near Maranello. It's amazing! There are many Ferrari cars, not only F1, and also cars like Villeneuve's one, Fangio's one and so on! Amazing

I'd keep the F1 car at home, sometimes might put it on a trailer and take it to track days to surprise everyone there
