In Italy the translation of "driver" and also "pilot" is "pilota", so, it's not like we call them in a different way than brits just because they are real quick.

Yup, bulgarian here, we call them pilots too. They withstand G-forces similar to those in fighter jets, so I think it's fair.

Here in italy if u drive an helicopter, plane or car, you are a pilot

In italian, every Motorsport driver is called a pilot. The translation for driver is "guidatore", but we don't really use this term to talk about Motorsport

Bro, my car in 10.6 seconds only goes 30 mph. I’m cooked.😂

Pilot is literally translation for driver in many languages

Bro they arent called pilots bc of the speed or g forces...youre forgetting that way back then when f1 was in its early stages they were still called pilots. The word "pilot" in many european languages refers to a "racing car driver"

It's just that some languages have driver and pilot referenced by the same word. But yeah in English that applies too, they drive rockets for 1 and a half to 2 hours.

No, they re called pilots because the F1 racing started after WW2 and most of the drivers were former pilots as they were the only ones mad enough to do it, and most of the tracks they raced on were converted airfields.

In Italy the term "pilota" is for whoever drives racecars/karts

As a pilot, I don’t call F1 driver pilots. Sometime in French we call them pilote tho

And you can go from being a Pilot to Passenger in about less than 0.5 seconds too

Please someone end me. That’s not why they are called pilots, and they are called pilots everywhere

That's not really the reason why they're often called pilots, it's rather because of the G forces.
Otherwise anybody driving anything which accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h would be called a pilot, and that just makes no sense.
