Why Putin is Scared of New B-21 Stealth Bomber

The US’s newest stealth bomber could be Putin’s worst nightmare. Unveiled only recently, the nuclear-capable B-21 Raider is one of the most advanced aircraft ever designed. Produced by Northop Grumman, the Raider is the first new American bomber in over 30 years. It uses extremely powerful computer systems for guidance, and is coated in classified materials undetectable by even the most modern air defenses. Other advances include controls on its electronic emissions to spoof radar systems, and new propulsion technology for even longer missions. 6 Raiders are currently in production, but the Air Force eventually plans to build a fleet of 100. And the overall cost of the program is unknown, but the average price per plane is over $750 million. So I recall that the Chines were playing with a way to combat stealth. They put up sensors to map the electromagnetic field and they look for holes in that electromagnetic background. You see a hole you know where the stealth aircraft is. Magic I tell you.

The material has traces of ferrous material, they apply it with a magnet near the surface to crate tiny spikes which absorb radar.

They can do what a cruise missile can do. We have had cruise missiles since Carter started the program back in the 1970s. Carter had the option of bombers vs cruise missiles and stealth technology so he chose the latter.

This is just the cheaper smaller version of the old one. The old one will still cart a lot more payload. And I think the old one looks cooler with its extra jagged edges in the rear
