I used to have YouTube premium but had to cancel it because I couldn't afford it anymore. When I had it though playlists would play all the way through without interruptions but now that I don't have it it seems like they pause every 20 minutes to ask if I'm still watching. It makes it pretty clear to me that they just want to make sure you're awake and paying attention to their stupid commercials!

That there isnt an option to simply and easily turn this function off shows how little youtube cares about the platforms users - its such an obvious problem to fix. I'm just trying to nap while listening to an album now I'm trying to research how to fix an annoyance.

And thank you for the video, the extension works well since I can't leave the tab open. I listen to a subliminal playlist on loop in the bg so the tab usually isn't open.

The amazing thing is youtube has still not corrected this fault in 2024. If someone has to go to the trouble to create an extension to fix it, it is obviously a major flaw.

Mine does the same thing but it's on my Motorola g pure phone. And no way around it. I'm trying to enjoy a deep meditation and at 20 minutes in it stops everything and says continue? For which I have no choice but to reach over and turn it to "yes" which completely ruins the meditation experience.

Any advice for the Nintendo Switch? Would Chromecast on the phone work through Youtube Vanced for stopping the auto pause? I appreciate your help! I sometimes need a little extra help figuring these things out due to my autism. There are sleep videos that really help me sleep (I was shocked and didn't put much faith into it) but my nightmares returned as soon as the video pauses.
