I SO appreciate that you guys have real closed captions, I'm a terrible lip reader and the predictive captions are a crap circus. The effort to be inclusive hasn't gone unnoticed.

Becky really brought her husband, her boyfriend, and her best friend to lunch 🙌💜💙

I love how matt and becky are just in the back seat chatting while eugene and keith are doing the video. Like they are really just there for the food and I love it.

People seem to think that they’re just paying lip service when they say that Fanta pairs well with Filipino food, but they’re actually right. Most Filipinos eat filipino foods with softdrinks and cola, that’s like a staple in a lot of meals and parties.

Becky saying that she could eat hundreds of lumpia speaks to my soul.

Fun fact, the Philippines was also colonized by the US for a while. But the US as a country never seems to talk about it.

"they were conquered by the spanish for a while"
*sweats nervously in 333 years and also after that, there were 2 more countries who colonized*

I don't think many people realize this but both Filipino and Mexican cuisine are heavily influenced by Spanish cuisine since they were both once colonies of the said country. Like, we have lechon and mexico has lechon too as well as what we call chicharon, which is fried dried pork rinds. That being said, it's i think one of the main and important factors why filipino and mexican food work together perfectly

When the lady said they struggle with either being Filipino or American enough, I felt that. I'm Hispanic and I worry if I am Hispanic enough or American enoguh. I thought I was the only one to struggle with that and I am glad I'm not. We will get there, we are who we are. <3

Eugene: "oh we're gonna be eating Asian food? And Becky's gonna be there? Alright I'll be in the video."

As someone who grew up in Sakhalin (Russian island that had been heavily influenced by Japan, Korean and China), I am so happy to see the fusion cuisine being represented. Thank you for showing the world that it's okay to mix cultures ❤

I feel like just adding the words “Filipino” or “Philippines” to anything just automatically summons us Pinoys immediately.

That mustache makes Keith looks like the step-dad who brought orange slices to soccer practice and took you for pizza afterward... or maybe that's just me.

i like how eugene always recognizes the disgusting history that the other ppl r always dancing around. like when matt says filipino food is a melting pot, Eugene rightfully says colonialism and that acknowledgment and bluntness are required.

I'm a Filipino planning to move to LA next year, and I'm honestly terrified. Finding out that there's a Filipinotown in LA is really comforting and assuages some of my terror.
