Such a cool reaction. By exactly calculating and measuring out the reagents it can be timed pretty exactly to turn blue after a specific time. And there's also an oscillating version of this reaction!

I remember seeing this on Mr. Wizard back in the 1980's! The trick is even more striking if you time it so that the color change occurs mid-pour between two pitchers as the parts are mixed through pouring back-and-forth.

We actually did this in chemistry (Iodine w/thiosulfate) to calculate reaction rates! (ie. The delay allows us to measure how much iodine was produced during that time)
