I've been with guys like that. They think if they are just pieces of garbage to me for a long enough time, I'd be the one to break up so they could play the victim. It's despicable. It's clear that they weren't happy in their marriage and it was already on bad footing from the get go. She said "marry me or leave." She didn't force him, but if he wasn't ready to commit, then he shouldn't have committed. Instead he continued to lie to her and started seeing another woman. Then he thinks telling the wife will be his out so he can move out and just divorce her. He doesn't even want to talk about it nor does he have the balls to just start the proceedings right away. He's the least sympathetic character. He had so many options to not hurt someone, but he wound up hurting just about everyone.
