I worked in luxury goods for 23 yrs. The bizarre thing - Hermes did have the most prestigious reputation yet their bags and shoes seems to be flooding the market and some seem to have a never ending supply of them.

For the price of a high end jacket, you could buy a ticket to Florence and grab a higher quality, handmade jacket crafted by a local shop and have money to spare.

What about Mike Amiri, Cartier, Celine, Hermes, Moncler, Chrome Hearts, Saint Laurent / YSL, Maison Margiela, Carolina Herrera, Ferragamo, & Marc Jacobs ?

IMO the Hermès collaboration with Apple lowers them a tier.

Chanel and Hermes have secret sales. I know that from my personal experience. However, bags are never for sale, but shoes and other things are.

My problem with all of these ‘tiers’ is that most of it is just smoke and mirrors and advertising. The real ‘high tier’ stuff is basically just bespoke. So if your ordering bespoke stuff frequently your in the most luxurious tier list. Hermes always triggers me mainly because aloot of their stuff isn’t especially good in anyway, since they usually use chrome-tan leather as opposed to analine leather - the best treated. So for example I prefer Giorgio Armani leather goods over hermes for example, basically because on average they are either equal quality or sometimes better.

Gucci & LV have so much in common w entry level items & both don't go on sale, so that comparison was an odd choice to point out

Most luxury clothing companies are worth a fraction of what mass market companies are worth. So I can see a luxury company wanting to diversify. However I feel like Zegna, armani, and Ralph Lauren did it better. Create new brands. That way the wealthy get to buy their purple label, and the rest of the world can buy Ralph Lauren, and the wealthy still feel special.

some of your comments about semi-expensive actually reminded me of brands like Gucci, LV and Versace [not in the same way but you understand] they've really brought down the "luxurious" factor because they're now only associated with flexers, influencers and new money. like they're not "exclusive" as one thinks because all I have to do is walk down the street in Sydney and see people head to toe in those brands casual styles.

It’s hilarious that prestigious luxury literally looks like something out of a Men’s Warehouse catalog 🤣

I own a couple items from the Tier 3 brands.
The 3A brands at least within the products I've bought have been consistently better quality of manufacture than 3B comparing items in the same price range and like you said 3B offers a lot of cheaper products diluting their reputationand making them feel cheaper across the board.

As well I specifically have an issue with Versace. Their customer service is atrocious. They had an item listed incorrectly on their website that I was asking them about.
The associate was very rude and unhelpful. I contacted them a second time to hopefully get someone else to help me and they forwarded my query to their "specialist department" and that was the last I heard from them. No follow up at all. That's why I no longer buy from Versace. Unfortunate because I kind of liked their designs, but Balmain is a fine replacement.

This list only talk about mainstream brands, they have millions of copycats and their value is not so high because they are targeted to be fancy on poor people's eye. Everyone knows Rolex, but F. P. Journe has much better quality, exclusivity and is far more expensive because only super rich people know the brand (like forbe's list people). There is a other tier that isn't there.

I started in Tier 2 (LV) back in 1999 out of HS thinking LV was made of leather 😅 When I found out their classic “leather” were just canvas, I felt robbed and stopped buying LV since. I do enjoy Ermenegildo Zegna, Brioni, Loro Piana, Kiton, and Hermes for the last 10+ years. Always timeless quality over quantity for me.

Great Video ! Personally I would put 1b to the 2nd tier along with Moynat, Goyard & Delvaux. Also add YSL to tier 3a
