50% depreciation in just 2 years is insane loss of value

Fun fact: if normal tow companies cannot get your car, deadass call a repo company. If they aren't busy, they do take normal tow work, and have all the dollies and tricks to slide or drag cars without damaging them.

I own 2 Teslas. Last year, I got hit by another driver and their insurance company mistakenly reported my car as totaled. They thankfully corrected the mistake quickly but it took me 6 months and countless hours with Tesla before they reinstated my warranty and supercharging. I constantly was told contradictory information, that the problem would be fixed before never hearing from them again, etc. I finally got the issue resolved by getting a lawyer and threatening to sue them. No compensation whatsoever. I'm never buying a Tesla again.

Dawg, that’s on you bro. I left my tesla for 2 weeks on vacation and only lost like 2 percent battery. You just gotta turn off cabin overheat protection and sentry mode and it basically goes fully asleep

Funnily enough this wouldn’t happen with a gas car, and if it did you could jump start it or put new fuel in it 😂

I left my Model Y parked in the garage at 56%. When I came back a month later, it was at 52%. All you had to do was turn off Cabin Overheat Protection so it doesn’t run the AC throughout the day

I appreciate the honesty, but the battery must've been quite empty already if it was empty after a week?

This is maybe the most negligent owner of an Electric Vehicle, or car in general. Tesla insurance has roadside assistance, plus we even have A third party premium membership service too. Everything mentioned is literally in the owners manual, and can be easily accessed online. Who doesn’t have a smartphone these days…

Expecting an EV to literally function like an internal combustion engine vehicle takes a special kind of person… Not to mention a TESLA is literally a SMART car, with contingencies and redundancies to prevent everything this person experienced… One would either be completely incompetent in the most egregiously unfortunate way, or purposely, or willfully ignorant, thus creating the circumstances that befell them, if even true…

This video basically expressed everything that could hypothetically go wrong, including a flat tyre, all at the same time. A perfect storm of calamity. Surprised a flock of Seagulls didn’t crap all over it, and a swarm rats ate up the interior too…

If the charge is less than 20%, the system deactivate Sentry Mode, or not even allow you to enable it, and the vehicle goes into a low power mode. Even if the energy level is at ZERO, it will still drive 20 miles… If you leave the vehicle for an extended period of time, you might also want to disable the cabin climate control feature too… Also to be fair, you would typically TOW a Porsche or other high end vehicles with a flatbed, and use the rollers too…

Everyone knows someone that makes basic processes seem like Sisyphussian endeavors… Nice things are not for everyone…

Why couldn’t you just put the Tesla in tow mode? It turns off regenerative breaking so it’s easier for you to tow…

Not even an EV advocate but damn this guy could spend 5 minutes in the toilet reading the Tesla manual to know a few things about leaving a car for an extended period of time

So, not doubting anything you said buuut....

*Your tires were almost flat, leading me to believe that car has not been driven in a LONG time....*

Obvious user error. And he is blaming the car. I left my car idling for 2 months. It lost 6% all together.

This sounds like a YOU problem. Not Tesla. 1. Going on vacation and leaving car public garage. Why not leave it at home. And 2. Why didn't you fully charge your car before leaving. How long were you gone on your trip that the battery died? Yeah, You should sell it. You need to go back to what you know.

You most likely left overheat protection on which will make it die way quicker. You would've been fine if you had it at a decent percentage. I've left mine for 2 weeks and had no problem at all.

bro leaves sentry mode on and blames the car lol

I had my Bolt EUV sitting for 2 weeks in my garage (around 85F during the day) at 80% charge unplugged. I came home after 2 weeks and it was at the same 80%. No loss whatsoever. Stop believing all this BS.

How does one manage this when mine only drained like 3% after leaving it unplugged for 4 days? U must've done something crazy stupid to let it die in only 7 days

User error. If at home, turn off sentry mode and adjust or turn off cabin overheat protection if you'll be away for an extended period of time. Or just charge before your trip. Rather than towing, find a mobile charging service. Or an extension cord. Or someone with an EV truck. There are so many other ways out of this situation.

1 year old Teslas are selling for $18k-$20k from Hertz and Enterprise car rentals resales. But I’ll Never Buy one ☝️

Why is using regenerative braking bad while towing? Wouldn’t that just charge your car while towing?
