Here is How to make Pierogi. I first tell you how to make a perfect Pierogi dough and then my Polish Grandma shows you step-by-step how to make her signature Pierogi filled with sauerkraut and dried mushrooms (vegan!). These are without a doubt, the most special pierogi of all, because in Poland we traditionally have them on Christmas Eve.

✅ INGREDIENTS:
dough:
♥ 500g flour (start with 400g)
♥ 1 cup (250ml) water
♥ 1 tablespoon oil (canola or olive oil)
♥ 1/2 teaspoon salt
filling:
♥ 1kg sauerkraut
♥ 40g dried mushrooms
♥ 2 oniions
♥ salt & pepper
♥ serve with fresh herbes (dill, chives) - this is optional

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe and the experience that you had with your Grandma sharing the making of Pierogi. My husbands heritage is from Poland, and while he remembers a good deal of his grandmother cooking, there were no actual recipes from her on how she made her Pierogi. always such a pleasure dropping by your channel. food takes on a whole new meaning. absolutely delicious! we have this as well but we put minced meat inside plus kimchi. i still dunno how to do this, maybe i try it. we have it fried or with soup. at 6:30 i have the same type of butter knife as you do with fillagree in it.

Is the absence of egg in the dough authentic Grandmas recipe ? Or was it adjusted for vegan diet?
