sync is not cheating, you still gotta blend and you still gotta choose the right tracks and make the mix sound amazing

This is EXACTLY how I play when using a controller. Use the BPM/synch to "gauge" the BPM and then start the track off and manually adjust as you you are so so correct. And some controllers ive used (with tracks I havent beat gridded before within rekordbox whatever that is as I havent a clue how to do that) play on the WRONG beat when using synch

Hey I Learn to DJ from the timeless Vinyl days & can beatmatch manually but I also use sync (Its there so why not use it...) ... At the end is about entertaining your crowd & getting the job done!

if your using a drum machine you use sync to keep sequences tight. its more about keep things tight while you focus on other things

I used sync with i have to use 4 decks or two other decks. It is useful for that purpose. But for two deck or turntable action manual mix is awesome and makes you more interested in playing. There is a rush that comes with having little time to get two tunes togther before the beat drops. Skill and practice is key. But nothing wrong with sync.

Some tracks dont sync correctly. Cirez D - On Off (Pryda Remix) great example. Go try it... Sync is a great tool to not need to waste time beat matching. Embrace technology dont live in the past. A djs job is to play music so whatever was you do it if you do it well who cares. Its becoming more a novelty to be able to play in the old art form. Ive met loads of young djs who rely on sync and if you cover the visuals with paper cant beat match. But ive heard though bang out a decent set using the new tools and technologies. Didnt we have this arguement 20 years ago when it jumped from vinyl to cdj as well. Technology wins.

The only time I've ever had sync be inaccurate is when I'm using acapellas

Sync is okay when you need to beat match in a hurry, when a track is about to end and you don't have time to nudge - for the rest, I always manually match them, because it gives me a better feel of the track - its really not that hard to do manually

I use sync, providing that the beat grid is correct. otherwise, I do manual.

Sync is good when DJing a wedding. Mixing live is good for school dances.
