this whole time it was just because it set the output device to controller headset, thanks so much lol

My issue was. 2.5 second delay in audio on the TV but no delay on the headphones. I tried everything, what fixed it for me was changing audio on the TV from surround to standard, then changing it back and it fixed it for me.

I got a new TV my sound kept cutting out every few seconds while watching blu-rays, DVDs and playing online games.
I simply switched the "Audio Option to "Dolby" which is what my new TV primarily uses. It immediately fixed the problem.

I just found another solution thought I should share here
1 go to xmb bar the one you push the PS button on home screen, i think in game works also, go to sound looks like a speaker, scroll down to bottom and the last 2 options one for game audio and one for media audio make sure they are turned up

Linear pcm is when the ps5 decodes. Bitstream is used when the receiver does the decoding.

My issue is all audio is fine through the headset, but as aoon as I unplug it I ant get any sound from the TV. Even when I'm not on my ps5

Somehow the sound I get from my ps4 sounds better than my ps5. Sound from the ps5 sounds kind of hollow and overall lesser quality. This goes for both games and music. I've tried turning 3D audio off but didn't seem different at all.

I even tested it using the same dualshock 4 controller and philips SHP 9500 headphones for both consoles.

Settings are Linear PCM and Headphones.

It's frustrating me.

UPDATE: tried toggling the 3D audio again. It's better turn off. Like, WAAAY better.

I still prefer the sound quality from the ps4, but this is not to say the sound from the ps5 is anymore worse now. Now is just a difference in some tuning.

If you can’t hear your voice or others voices on your clips here’s the fix- press the share button and click on the option on the far right then enable both buttons 👍

With my issue I had to literally unplug my entire tv. Give it a minute then plug it back in. So far that fixed the audio issue. I put the ps5 in rest switched aux inputs. Everything. Then tried that and it worked.

I'm having an issue where certain sounds go really quiet when I turn the camera away from them. This is without a headset. Putting a headset in gives me no problems.
