Welcome to the Beyond the Scope Podcast presented by ND MD. This podcast continues the mission of sharing the incredible stories and experiences of students, physicians, and healthcare professionals...but this time it's all about the things all those years of medical training doesn't prepare you for. Things that are beyond the scope of our practice.

BONUS EPISODE WITH DR KAY

Today we put the spotlight on a topic near and dear to my heart, the imperfections of becoming a doctor. I always mention that medical training is difficult in my interviews and I always ask my guests if they would change anything that got them to where they are today...and almost unanimously the answer is no. Dr. Kay is a huge physician advocate and uses her platform to normalize some of the difficulties we all experience as we seek to pour into our patients..while struggling to sometimes pour into ourselves.

This talk means a lot to me. Covered things I always had fear to speak up about. Representation matters, so thank you for this video.

I'm an Asian woman who came to this country for graduate school with only $40 in my pocket. I got thru it. I think you two should stop talking about how difficult it is for you to be Asian and having family that are not worthy.
