Hi Dr Liu, I’m 30 year old, had lingual frenectomy via diode laser one week ago - the pain intensity has not subsided, I’m experiencing jaw and lower teeth pain as well, tongue mobility is limited and the pain is making the exercises close to impossible, dentist was dismissive of my experiences and only gave me some ibuprofen. kindly advise if this is normal. Cheers!

So, I’m 15 and I got my tongue released yesterday but Im starting to believe they didn’t properly cut it. I noticed my tongue doesn’t even come close to touching the roof of my tongue even if I use my fingers to push up underneath the tongue. What should I do?

Good evening doctor. I am Dr Frend. I have a question. What do you do to sedate pediatric patients with this case? Thank you

I’m 44 years old and have never experienced any issues with my speech. My dentist advised getting this procedure, ut I’m concerned it could cause speech problems. Have you ever heard of that happening? He referred me to a periodontist, but that person has never conducted the procedure on an adult (only infants and children). Is that something I should be concerned about?

As much as I try, I don't speak as clearly as some people, and although I've been working at it for several years, it's still very difficult to roll my R's (I speak a little Russian, so I roll my R's regularly). I began searching online and thought I discovered that I had a tongue tie. I've always seen it, but it's very small and I assumed it was something everyone has. So, when I thought I had this problem, I became a little excited, thinking I could have an operation and everything else would fall into place.
Then I watched a video of an adult tongue-release surgery and then I watched your video and I see that both of you have more prominent ties than I do, which means probably can't have an operation to magically fix everything and I just need to work even harder or accept my limitations.
Disappointing.

Hi Dr! My 5 years old just had laser done yesterday Our doc recommended to use our finger to stretch his tongue up but he is refusing since he still feels pain under the tongue. But he does move around his tongue to the side and stretch it out. But it doesn't seem to stick out as we expected could it be because it's still swollen or muscle tight? And if he still moves around his tongue can it prevent from reattachment? he just won't let finger inside and he won't lift it up. 😟

My son is 6 weeks old, bottle fed but very windy and colicky in the evenings and still a bit unsettled after the bottle feeds. If I do the exercises if they suggest a tongue tie release, would that help with the posterior part of the tongue?

After the frenectomy for adults, how long would it take to get used to speech and pronunciation due to increased flexibility of the tongue

when to do these stretches? I had my surgery today and it hurts so hard when I try to move my tongue but I still want to prevent that it reattaches again
