Nervous Patient Thrilled with Lingual Frenectomy Results

A lingual frenum is a fold of tissue under the tongue that typically restricts full movement. To reestablish normal use of the tongue a lingual frenectomy is preformed. Immediately after this minor oral surgery, the tongue has increased mobility and can properly extend out of the mouth. This procedure can help to promote speech and proper tooth arch development in growing children. Our patient is thrilled with the service she received in the office and her results!

I got a frenectomy done three weeks ago to help with my speech and posture. Worked amazingly well the first few days but now it’s basically back to how it was before. Is it possible that it tightens up during healing and loosens again?

I might need this. My fenum is not that close to tip of my tongue but I have speech problem and bad tongue posture. I read on Internet that it can do more harm like Tongue falling in to throat and causing sleeping problems. Is it true?
