Tongue Tie Release Treatment

This video shows what tongue tie is and how it is treated close-up. This procedure can be performed in the clinic without sedation in newborns. Although clamp and scissors are used in this video, alternatively, a laser can also be used. Keep in mind, video is for release.

This procedure can also be performed in teenagers and adults who have trouble sticking the tongue out (speech issues with certain sounds, French-Kissing, licking an ice cream cone, etc).

I was supposed to get this done as a baby but my grandma didn’t let us bc she said it’ll get better when I grow up. Shocker it didn’t, I’m 17 now and I just got it done a few hours ago. It hurts like hell, I got anesthesia with needles. I hope I can speak better now. I used to have a mild lisp. I’ll update on my speech impediment and if it gets better so people that are considering getting it can know what to expect.

My cousin has this. He has always had an issue pronouncing “th” vowels growing up

(For example he’ll say “frow it over there” instead of “throw it over there)

it wasn’t until a like 2 years ago I asked if he knew why it was in issue for him bc now we’re in our early 20’s and he still has this speech issue. He showed me his tongue and it was the first time I ever seen something like that? Kinda upsets me that my aunt never got that fixed for him all these years.

i was tongue tied. i never actually looked up the process until now. and this actually makes since. i ended up being breastfed for 11months while my twin only breastfed for two to three. all this time I thought I was just a fatass as a baby. i didn't get my tongue clipped until I was 5 because no one was aware of it. i was put under for the surgery and I don't have any memory of like pain when I woke up. but I was told that when I woke up I stuck my tongue out and said "they fixed it!". only for side to getting the surgery done so late in life is that stutters can and most likely will happen. im a victim of a stutter.

I had this up until last year, but when I tried to see how long my tongue could stretch, it gut caught up in between my teeth. I got scared so I yanked my tongue out of my teeth. I don't have it anymore. I just realized what it was today and I just realized how much of a difference it did to my tongue.
